The first TapeOp member. . Ooooooh. . . .

Post by honkyjonk » Sun Mar 14, 2004 3:33 pm

Hmmm. . .

I was just thinking. I wonder who was the actual first member of this message board?
Maybe it was Larry and Hillary, but you know, after that. That would be kind of wierd to join a forum where you're pretty much the only person that says anything.

X person post: Opinions on API Lunchbox?
X person reply: Can't help you there. I don't have any API stuff.

X person post: XLR connections- pin 2 and 3 discrepencies on 80's Yamaha boards?
X person reply: I'm having the same problem

I remember about two or three messageboards ago. The earliest members I can remember seeing regularly that are still here are Soundguy Dave, New York Dave,
Heylow, and Blue Pixl (who is Wing now) Wait!!! You are Blue Pixl aren't you Wing?
But that was probably only 2 to 2.5 years ago.

Everybody remember when Dave used to answer every single post, no matter how many times it had already been asked? And he would answer in such an all-encompasing, complete manner that no one could possibly say anything else about the subject without repeating what he already said.

Ahhhh The good ol days . . . . .

That's a great question. I can only remember back to when there were 300 people on the first board. Not even close for me.

Dang! Check it Ma! I'm OLD School! heh

Oddly, 3 of the 4 people you mentioned are named Dave. I think that's enough to prove that "Daves" are generally smart, cool and...uhhhh....old school.

He still does a pretty good job when he wants to. Dave's good people....when he feels like being so! I have to admit, there DOES seem to be a handful of people who tend to pick very serious matches with the dude at the slightest expressed opinion these days. That's probably enough to sour you a bit. What're ya gonna do though? If you ask him nicely, he'll tell you what you wanna know.....even if it's not the same "what you wanna know" that you wanna hear.

Yep.

I'm in a band called The Daves. I guess I'm pretty Old School as well. I knows I'm smart.
