There was an awesome interview on Fresh Air yesterday with Mavis Staples (recorded in '89). Terri Gross played a few songs, including I'll take you there. She was very cool. Humble, but proud, too.

And the Staples family was apparently quite close with Dr. King. Which is cool on another level entirely.
