What's 'plus' about the newer version of the Ebow?
I just got one last week and was curious if I'm missing out on something with the old version. Thanks.

Re: Eboe Plus vs. the original Ebow
I think that the old one didn't have the 2 settings.
If I'm not mistaken, the incredibly high, squealy setting is exclusive to the "plus".

Re: Eboe Plus vs. the original Ebow
ha, I've been looking at these too. It seems they refined the harmonics to produce less mid-heavy sound, which makes it "sweeter".
that harmonic mode favors overtones, while the other switch position favors the fundamentals. This model is the fourth generation and is called the PlusEBow. It has an improved sweeter regular EBow sound (less mid heavy), a smoother, more controllable drive (less runaway) as well as the new harmonic mode and a cool blue LED. To get the slower activation and mellow sound of the original EBow, tilt the later models away from the strings.

I have one of the older black ones. You can get those high pitched harmonics on it without too much trouble, you just have to learn the proper technique to 'dig' into the strings.

I have one of the original chrome ones and not only does it only have one mode, but it has no switch, and comes on automatically. I love it. It throws people who are used to the newer ones because they don't know how to get it going, but I love that thing in all it's leather-pouch coolness!
