Computer Desks...

Post by Sender » Tue Apr 20, 2004 10:02 am

I was at a studio that had this tiny desk (no more then a foot and a half deep and about 2 and a half feet wide) that had a mount for an LCD monitor and a small keyboard/mouse tray on wheels that they were using for thier DAW. It really reminded of the Studer remote. Does anyone know where to pick something like this up.

I have one of these and I love it.

if it's not what exactly what you are looking for, browse around their other computer and workplace furniture.

no, i think i've seen what you mean. Basically a pole on wheels, with a keyboard shelf attached, and you could mount the LCD on the pole. But no place for the cpu, right?

I'm still looking. I think maybe the Anthro company.

But I did find this.

this is a bit sophisticated for what you're talking about....more for standing up, but it's the right direction

seems to be classified a lot as a health care cart, what you're looking for. Trying searching under those conditions

This one might work if you are into recording epic metal. The wizard is full sized, comes seperately, and is inflatable, which I must say is a *nice* feature, if you know what I mean. The Dragon has about a 2' cubic storage space right between the shoulder blades ready for rackmountable gear. It goes 0-60 in just under 3 seconds and has a 30,000 bumper to bumper warrantee.

Alright. I promise that's the last one. I just can't help myself when I see a ridiculous picture posted.

By the way, would anyone else be horrified to have an entire Imac hanging over their head like that? I know I would.

This is definitely not sophisticated, but it is my desk, and my roomate and I built it for about 60 bucks. And as you can see, I am a big fan of cool lights. We call it, "The SuperDesk". All the cables run under the desk, got a shitload of space underneath to store boxes from gear, and the two monitor setup is bitching. I would recomend hooking up two monitors to every computer, once you do, you will be so happy you did. Though I like my current desk a lot, when I find a new place to rent and have to build the super desk II, it is going to rock even harder.
