Revox b77 help

hey guys. I got a new B77 reel to reel from ebay today. First of all, I dont have the manual so im not really sure how to thread it etc. I had it working, but when I recorded it the audio was barely audioable on tape..very weak signal. I made sure the incoming signal (cd player) was hot, and the input level was high. any ideas?
?I am so clever that sometimes I don't understand a single word of what I am saying.?
