Fostex E-16 question

I broke out the old Fostex E-16 and was happily cutting vocals today when I could not get track 16 to arm on the machine. All other tracks can be armed with the remote. Track 16 gets signal through the board and lights up on the leds when checking levels, but it when I go into record mode, nothing is getting to tape. Do I need to get this deck back in for fixin' or is it a user problem, meaning I am being a numbskull? Please get me back on a roll, I was having so much fun after giving it a rest for a while. Thanks!!!

Perhaps the record head is misaligned so that track 16 is not making proper contact with the tape.

I fixed it...I figured it was something dumb.

I wiggled the remote cable. Presto...joy oh joy.
