Can I make this guitar look cool and less death metal?

Post by logancircle » Sat Jun 12, 2004 9:46 am

I like the sound a lot, but I want it to look lighter, less evil. Any awesome ideas?

I've always loved what Reeves Gabrels did to his Parker Fly

Well at least there's no snake or skull on it, doesn't look that bad to me, i'd just take pride in the sound if that's what you're after, too much worrying about looking cool goes on anyway IMO.

Reeves' guitar looks awesome. Maybe I'll get me a "Bedazzler". I don't care too much about looking cool, but I know that when I have 2 guitars that look different, I play them differently for some reason. It's psychological but in this case I don't think the metal look inspires me too much.

Gold hardware/pickup covers/screws/etc on a black body would look awesome...

firstly, "cool and less death metal" sounds like an oxymoron to me.

secondly, it looks just like a fake sg body. so paint its ass cherry red or something. and put some stickers on it.

thats exactly what i was gonna say..paint it pink

there had been these flyers around NYC a while ago that advertised this band "pink steel" ..gay heavey metal at its hardest..

hmm..maybe this wouldnt be the best thing to do

ok i say get an artist to paint a spider web on it with a pink my little pony stuck in the web..

or you could just look at it as irony

How about instead of trying to make your guitar look "cool"
grow some balls.

Does it look evil? It's just an asymetrical SG clone in black. I think it depends on how you play it, your face, and perhaps what you wear when play. I wear black a lot and my guitar is black. It can be a bit much -- a little heavy at times, but we never quite reach evil.

possibilities:

a) paint it

b) wear pastels when you play

c) don a hat, like this guy:
