this forum is like a daily magazine. Don't miss tomorrow's issue. It features Dave Soundguy, Heylow, bluepxl, and more...

I know a really incredible music magazine, it's my bible for what's happening in underground music, fashion, and cool things to say. They're so ahead of the trends it's scary. The name is Spin.

Or if you have no aspirations of being cool like me, try Club.

I just got rid of about 50 EQ and Mix magazines today. I'm not gonna buy those anymore. I can always read 'em at the bookstore. I didn't get rid of any TapeOp. Why not take some back issues on your plane trip???

I only read TapeOP, occasionally Recording magazine. Everything else blows, most of them just sell ads and deceive the buying public with slanted reviews and ad space.

I stopped reading Mix because that stuff is so way beyond me.

EQ isn't bad, but sometimes it just doesn't jibe with me.

Recording is OK, but.........

TapeOp is the best!!!

I didn't know the people at EQ hate us! Why were we all hanging out having drinks together at AES in LA then?

Larry-

the people at the EQ message board laugh at you aligning an MCI because they are all holier than though with their new fangled computer rigs.

we should go spam their board with a collage of tape machine maintainence...

I have a love/hate relationship with electronic musician magazine. Some months it seems that every article is relevant, and other months I literally just throw it away. It helped in the beginning ... and they sometimes have neat diagrams of like someone's studio layout.

I read Sound on Sound magazine. None however match Tapeop's vibe.

I do own and align 3 analog decks, but I just bought 2 new computers in the last few months. Mac, of course. I now have Pro Tools 6 runiing on a G4 though... LE, 001, of course, cuz I'm cheap. Bought an iBook today and realized you can't run PT6 on any available Mac laptops. Silly world this is...

There will be some tape deck aligning at the conference!

Tape Op is the only recording magazine I can understand.

But if you're looking for a good read, try Chunklet magazine. It's some of the funniest stuff out there.

I stopped reading Mix when I opened up a copy and it had a 2-3 page article on a golf tournament that some engineers had attended. I thought that was pretty useless in my world of audio. :?

How about Signal to Noise? It isn't a recording magazine but talks about music in an interesting and innovative way.

Also, the best magazine in the entire history of the whole world, Weird NJ. Seriously. It is the greatest thing ever. Comes out every six months and is about... weird things in New Jersey. Check their web site, www.weirdnj.com. I think the mag is available at Barnes and Noble.
