CB radio microphone

Post by hank hill » Tue Sep 28, 2004 5:48 pm

Hi all.

I was wondering if anyone knows off hand how to wire a cb radio microphone to an xlr plug. Is that even possible?

I used to be really into collecting and using cb radios and I have a bunch of nice cb mics (yes they actually make REALLY nice cb radio mics) that might be somewhat cool as effects type mics. Its been over 10 years since I've had a plug apart, and I don't even remember quite what the plugs look like even. I seem to remember they had four wires. Maybe I can figure it out but I was wondering if someone might know off hand before I go through boxes and find a mic and start experimenting. Maybe this way I'll be able to get right down to it.

Thanks
L.

Breaker 1-9, that's a negatory, what's your 20?

Big 10-4 there on the interesting request, negatory on the poop.

Sorry, and out.

Hey, I just picked up an old Shure CB mic that was being thrown out at work. I'll be mangling this thing up pretty soon. Here's a link I found with some wiring info.
