can phantom power damage externally power tube mics?

Post by goldenechos » Sat Oct 09, 2004 11:55 am

I use the MBOX (2 channel w/ mic pres, ptotools interface).
When Phantom Power is turned on, it automatically goes on BOTH channels.

I want to use one external powered tube mic, and another mic that requires phantom power.

with the phantom power on both channels, do i risk damaging the tube mic?

any insight will be greatly appreciated.

RTFM, but as a rule, phantom power is gonna get bypassed by a tube mic's external power supply, without breaking a sweat.
