Another Company that "gets it"

Post by Milkmansound » Thu Oct 21, 2004 8:29 am

Audio Technica. My ATM25 started crackling - so I sent it to them, and they sent it back within a week no charge. That is customer service! I bought that mic used 6 years ago!

I love when company stands behind their product, it makes me want to buy more of their stuff. When a company gives you the runaround, and tries to charge you an arm and a leg for what should be warranty work (like Mackie for example) it makes me want to not buy their stuff anymore. Plain and simple. AT can be trusted.

what most companies don't get is that if they piss you off, you are never going to even think of their products ever again. Audio Technica gave you a "hook up" so you are a fan of AT for life. That is great customer service. Just don't try asking Soundelux for anything. I had problems with a new ifet7. I am still waiting for a bunch of e-mails to be returned to me from about 4 months ago.
I know enough to know that I don't know what I am doing.

I have more AT mics than all other brands combined because of a similar experience early on. And I've never been disappointed with an AT mic. They make great stuff for a reasonable price and you get good customer service to boot.

I think I posted about this not long ago. AT is freaking GREAT for customer service! What a novel idea? Anyone wonder why I rant and rave about these mics and recommend them to everybody?

Just used a pair of Audio Technica 4047s on a Lezlie cabinet and had great results. Tried the same pair on a Steinway piano and still favored the AKG 414s for that. Am still looking to try the AT 3060s though...my gut tells those are going to be goooooooood!

Either contact your dealer (and ask them to go to bat for you), or contact Brad Lunde here:

Customer service is sadly neglected these days... There are a few companies which "get it" and which will probably stay in business long after most others have failed. Audio-Technica, Shure... hey, those guys have already been in the microphone business just about forever. See?

Also,

see my "Alesis Rocks" post from a few months back.
Man, those guys really do you good.

I bought a second hand masterlink, and they sent me a service manual free of charge (like an inch and a half thick) in addition to the newest OS,free and gave me a bunch of info over the phone concerning upgrades and compatability.
You call them, and YES, you can talk to a person, and a knowledgable person.

I have a pair of Audio Technica ATH-M40f/s headphones that I sent back twice for repair. Sent them to the pro audio repair center, got them returned back quickly, no charge for the repair either time. Both repairs were on an out-of-warranty unit...great customer service.

Tried that with a pair of Sony 7502 headphones: the repair/exchange charge for each as quoted by their Burbank repair center was only $15 less than the cost of a new pair. I told them to keep 'em. I'm done with buying Sony anything.

It is nice to hear the success stories for once! DaviSound is AMAZING with this. Totally great. Placid Audio as well.

I've had great service from Blue, Audix, Manley, etc. Not to mention the people that make stuff that never breaks...

Just don't ask them about the delivery date for the HD24's Director. All you'll get are lies and lip service. It's truly pathetic how they have let down the HD24 owners who bought the units on the promise of a usable remote, and they have promised it for a very long time. No excuse for this kind of crappy service.

Cheers,
