Gadget Labs

Post by exit2studios » Fri Nov 12, 2004 7:15 am

I'm hoping someone here can help me out with this.

I have a Gadget Labs 8-24 that has sat dormant for a while. Now there are finally XP drivers (GL went out of biz years ago) so I have it back in play.

Was curious how this thing stacks up technically with the new breed of interfaces? How good are the AD/DA? I really don't have much to compare it to, was just curious if it's worth keeping or if I should continue my search.

If you don't want it, sell it to me. I've got the 4 in/out version and it sounds great. There are no midi drivers for XP, so if you want to use midi, you're out of luck.

It's not that I don't want it, I'm just curious how the converters compare to things on the market like the RME, Layla 3g, Motu, etc.

I would love to hear that it compares favorably, but have none of the above to compare it to.

I don't have those for comparison either, but try searching or asking here:

Whoa!!! XP Drivers for Gadget Labs products already!?!??! LOL!!! I too have a 8/24 interface that's been dormant for awhile....

Where would i find and download these drivers?

I doubt that the Gadget Labs line of cards would sound as good as newer products. Hell, they're 5 years old already!?! But I guess ya never know untill you try.....

You can get the drivers here: http://www.rhythminmind.net/gadgetlabs/. A guy named Mostek wrote them for free. Yay Mostek!

But really you should forget about that and just sell me your 8/24 for cheap. :D
