a Bass in my blackface SuperReverb ? is it good?
i don't have a jam space for a few month, so i can't try it...
so i'm wondering if I'm gonna break my amp or speakers (4x10") if I play bass guitar with this guitar amp (speakers are jensen P10R) on a regular basis

i don't think you'll hurt the amp. if it sounds good, it is good!

You won't hurt the amp and your bass should sound beautiful through that amp. the 10's are sweet.
I actually run my bass through a VOX Cambridge 30 Twin Reverb which has 2 X 10's and get a wonderful sound.

I've enjoyed playing basses through all kinds of guitar amps - Roland JC120, Fender Musicmaster, old Vox solid states. Never a problem, but I always worried when I'd just blow through the speakers on some of those.

I play bass through my Fender Quad Reverb 4x12. Mind you it is just in my house, no band ect. I keep the volume reasonable.
I know enough to know that I don't know what I am doing.

thanks. But if I play quite loud (at a band volume) is it dangerous to blow the speakers faster than with a guitar?

I had a celestion go bad in a marshall combo pretty soon after an intense bass-thru-guitar amp recording. Coincidence?

Just listen for speaker breakup. A guitar signal can drive speakers to breakup into a nice "distortion" based on how the speakers are being driven by a combination of power and frequency range.
Your bass will drive the speakers different than a guitar at higher volumes and put more stress on the cones in ranges they're not designed for so listen carefully for "breakup" as you increase the volume.
For practice and recording purposes you won't have any problems but in a live band situation where you're fighting to be heard over everyone else (usually) you do take a chance in blowing the speakers at higher volume levels.
Mic the cabinet or go direct out to your PA system.

you know.. there's not really a lot a variations in volume with this amp! when i'm playing guitar, it start to overdrive at around 3-4, after that, it is not really louder, just more overdrive, and when playing quieter than 3-4 it just doesn't sound good...

If 3-4 doesn't sound good then there's something's wrong. If you're getting a lot of distortion at 4-6 then the amp needs repair. I would look at taking it to a local amp repair shop; dare i say, even a GC.
That amp should be pretty clean up to 5, then it gets a little edgy, then pushing it at 7 and up it gets ballsy.

The speakers can be a problem.
Just don't do a Flea, or at least listen for too many transient break-ups if you do. Although the first can smoke low-watt speakers...
