TEAC 3340S

Post by louloomis » Fri Nov 26, 2004 11:13 pm

Hi. I just got one of these machines and want to check it out.

It is just the machine. So I know it at least needs:

1. Hubs (to hold the reels on)
2. Power cable (2 prong, old style)
3. Take-up reel

What else do I need? How do I calibrate/clean/test? Is this machine worth checking out. I've recorded well with my digital setup, but my ears are really longing for analog luv.

I have a Soundcraft Spirit Folio (12 channels) which can do 2 track return stuff and some more returns through auxes, I think. Any thoughts on how to configure this would be great, too (it doesn't have 4 dedicated busses).

Thanks,
LL

Also, is there an alternative place to get hubs and the above materials for the unit (other than e-bay)?

thanks,
LL

If I'm not mistaken, you should be able to use 7" reels on that machine, sans hubs, at least to just try it out. A place that sells 7" reels (try quantegy 456) should also have a takeup reel. Around $10 total. The cable should be available from any electronics store, even radio shack should have them.

it's this machine?
