EDIT Jan 10, 2005

CONFIRMED:::::::::::IT'S A GO::::::::::::

NC Tape Op Meet Up

Tuesday, Jan 18th @ Rathskeller in Chapel Hill 7pm.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys, how's about a holiday RTP TapeOp meet.

I know there was one in August, and I was just moving to NC and had too much going on. Moved in to Durham now just north of the airport - literally in RTP.

Also, now because I'm in RTP - one of my projects, The Listening Sessions [ see Nov/Dec 2004 Tape Op and the link in my sig ] is based in RTP, too. So, if you like checkin' out gear...

Let's meet up!

Throw some dates, times and places out. I'm fairly flexible at this point.

Hell yea! I didn't even know there had been one before.

Unfortunately, I am not in a position to suggest a date or location. The engine in my truck blew up last week and the card is more-or-less maxed. Any Winston/Greensboro people? I'll get the gas.

The situation is actually a good thing. I can walk to the day job, and I'm more inclined to work on the mix studio. I've been pulling together the gear, lumber, and 703 for a few months. Now I've got nothing but time to get it together.

Well, last time they met at some place on Hillsborough near the NC State campus. I'm up for somewhere in that hood.

I'm open, but I'll just throw out some suggestions. I'm not too big on going out on the weekend 'cause places are too crowded. I'd suggest a Thursday in the first half of December - either the 9th ot 16th.

That all adds up to...

somewhere on Hillsborough where we can get food and drink on either Thursday, December 9th or Thursday, December 16th.

What say ye. Ball's in your court...

i'm good with either date. don't make it to hillsborough street much any more, so i'm not too sure what's over there these days. so the ball's not in my court.

OK - and the date is more important anyway. We can always decide where after we nail down a date. [ I've got no problem going to Chapel Hill and might even prefer it. Or some lil' funky place in Carrboro. ]

Is there anyone who could not make it on Thursday, December 9th at 7:00pm?

More balls in more courts...

I'd be totally into it if it were during the day. And it'd be easier for me if it were in Greensboro or Winston.

Hey, now that's more like it. The day thing though.... But who am I, somebody? Yea, right.

Greensboro's not too terribly far from my house. I could do Raleigh or Greensboro no problem.

I can do days. I'd even be willing to drive to Greensboro. But if we've got 8 or so heading to Greensboro when only one or two would head to RTP - that's seems inefficient and wastes gas and tears up the tax payers roads just a little bit more. : )

Is there anyone who can NOT do days?

If not a weekday, we could do it during the day on a Saturday or Sunday. A lunch thingy maybe.

They don't call this process "cat herding" for nothing. : )

What about meeting at somebody's studio?

We could talk shop - maybe all bring a pre or two or a fav mic with us.

Just brainstorming here.

I can do weekday nights and weekends anytime. It doesn't really matter where, but if it is in the RDU area, I couldn't go unless I got a ride with someone passing through. I don't think I'll have the scratch together for a new engine until after the New Year. Gas is on me and a full tank after the return.

I live in South Florida now, but I just thought I'd voice that I'm about 70 percent convinced now that the Raleigh/Durham area is where I'll be moving in 2 or 3 years. Count me in around about 2007.
