Engine Ears needs help

Post by violet biggs » Mon Dec 06, 2004 11:39 am

Hello,

For the past 2 years, I have been filming interviews and studio sessions with engineers, bands and producers for my film Engine Ears. Some interviewees include, Steve Albini, David Bottrill, GGarth, Richie Hawtin, John Parish, Solex, Calvin Johnson and Larry Crane etc...

At this point in the project I could use a producer to help out.

If anyone is interested, feel free to contact me with any questions regarding this project.

Thanks,
Violet

sounds like a really interesting project..film or video?..what kind of help do you need ? I dont think many people on here are film/video producers..you could try www.mandy.com or get a copy of the local fim directory from city hall or the state one..I could probably find the time to give you my opinion on specifics through the net..just Pm me..

Engine Ears needs help

Post by violet biggs » Tue Dec 07, 2004 2:32 pm

Hi,
I need help to raise some money so that I can finish shooting and start some preliminary editing. I am very organized and motivated.

It's on video, dvcam, mini dv and a little hi8.

Thanks,
Violet

maybe you could raise money by having a benefit screening of some movie at the local arts theater or other venue..advertise in the local arts paper or something..call the local film commision..see what help they can ofer..other than that beg, borrow, and charge if you think you can make your money back on this..maybe contact gear companies and tell them you will feature their gear if they invest in the movie..contact film universities..look into grants..the national endowment for the arts is a good one..pbs in boston..

FYI: Billy Anderson (interviewed in Tape Op a while back) advertises himself as an "Engine Ear." Says so right on his red, suede leather business cards. I shit you not.
