i just got an EMU 1820M and it requires balanced cables. not XLR cables but balanced cables for the input and output. does anyone know where i can get some great quality cables?

the guys at redco are great. chris has helped me with buying a ton of cable (from my standpoint) for setting up a patchbay. mogami molded ends.

or you can order in bulk from them and solder your own. i would do that, but i am so damn busy these days. i wish i had time to just sit down and breath in some solder fumes for a few hours.

I second the Redco recommendation. For basic balanced cable I've been using Mogami 2549 wire. I got the Neutrik gold-plated TRS connectors but those are freakin' expensive so you'd probably prefer to start out with the non-gold-plated ones, or possibly another brand. And of course redco can fabricate the cables for you - never had that done myself but I'm sure they do a good job, and a lot faster than I can. :) I too have gotten helpful advice from Chris. Ring them up!

I recommend HAVE Inc.
1-888-999-HAVE, talk to Trisha or John.(They even have an 800 number!)
I trust them with all of my cable needs.
Trisha is an outstanding person to work with.
I refer everyone to them, I couldn't be happier, the quality of their workmanship is second to none. To this day, I have never had a cable break from them. You can get awesome quality custom cables for less
than buying them in the store IMO.

Check out Zaolla, their stuff is solid silver wire and quite pricey, but DAMN is it nice stuff, very high quality.
