uh, no; that's just my wacky sense of humor. I use it not to cover the fact that I'm in a crappy band, but to allay any fears that you all might have that my penis is incredibly, incredibly tiny. Which of course you all know it is not because my wacky sense of humor proves it.

I'm still interested in knowing what stuff the original poster has - but have to admit that the idea of a mentor is uhm. Y'know. Wtf.

I heard that everytime someone writes something sarcastic or silly, an angel catches on fire and punches a puppy in the face. Think about that next time you wanna write something stupid, you assholes.

I don't think the idea of wanting a mentor is stupid. I have had several in my life, although they typically were friends or teachers, and not people I selected specifically to be mentors.

The time you can spend with knowledgeable people is hard to come by at times so make the most out of the chances you get. Everybody is busy and has their own lives and you can't just expect to find someone to give you the time or resources you are looking for.

On the other hand, if you are patient, perhaps you can run into someone who really needs an extra hand and is willing to help train you. But the opportunities are becoming more scarce and the world is turning into a DIY space. Evolution, Morpheus...

I suggest you read this messageboard first before you look for someone else's guidance. Not just read this post, but all of the posts. I know that sounds like a lot, but by the time you are through you may feel differently about things. Or perhaps just read the general recording section. You will find that there are many mentors on this board who are already sharing the experiences you seek, only their answers come from all over the globe.
Yours,

Piotr

or

sometimes their answers come in the form of a sarcastic or witty remark.

personally, i enjoy receiving messages which are packaged in sarcastic witty remarks. to me, it says that the sender is taking great pains to put their message into the universe in an entertaining way.

also, as walnut studio was eluding to, people are busy. in my experience, people who have been helpful to me have been people with whom i have a relationship which is deeper than passing data back and forth.

and this type of relationship often evolves from sarcastic and witty remarks...

but then, me and trashy recorded a shitty song that sounded exactly like 10 other shitty songs i've heard before.

so i may be biased.

maybe it's just me.

but i think trashy is kinda funny.

You're probably right. I just don't like cats very much.
