My favorite Led Zep right now. . .
III
1. When the banjo and drums come in at the same time in Gallows Pole
2. Superduper uber sustain solo in Tangerine.
'
3. Out on the Tiles- one of those 'just when you think that's enough licks for a song, there's one more lick' songs.
4. Bron-yarrrrrschtompf!!!!

I love out on the tiles. hey if ulisten closely you can hear page yell 'stop' or something in there. that is because he kept messing up the time to that over the bar riff. pretty advanced stuff going on there but its still awesome. gotta love that intro

Goin' to California made me want to be a lead singer in a band. When Plant says "watch out.."

Wait Mike,
Going to California is off IV. "Watch out Watch out" isn't that between harmonica breaths on Bring it on Home from II?

so fucking weird! I've been listening to III non-stop for the past month! It's incredible & my fave as well. And I will go on record as saying that the Immigrant Song has the most bad-ass groove ever recorded. Ever. Banshee scream and all. Stomps my nuts each time!!!
However - Tangerine belongs in that "out of tune" thread. The harmonies make me want to kill babies.
p.s.
ever notice the bass drum pedal squeaks on Since I been loving you?

I love when the drums enter on "Since I've Been Loving You." You can drive a car between the snare and bass drum.
BRILLIANT!

I recently discovered the badass drum sound on "Walter's Walk". It's on Box Set II but I can't remember which original album. The bass drum sound was like a revelation while driving in my car recently.

Not as bad as the harmonies on Battle of Evermore, though, eh?kRza. wrote:However - Tangerine belongs in that "out of tune" thread. The harmonies make me want to kill babies.
