A New Low
So, I got this email unsolicited and I don't know this person, so I assume it's okay to print it.
Get this:
"My name is Holly Gardner, and I?m a Talent Associate with Mark Burnett
Productions, whose other shows include Survivor and The Apprentice.? I
wanted to let you know that we are now in pre-production for our new show,
scheduled for prime-time on CBS this summer, in which we are looking for the
new lead singer of INXS.
"We are doing global auditions for male and female singer-songwriters, over
21, and in ALL styles of music.? This is an AMAZING opportunity for REAL
artists to get seen and heard doing what they do on a national, major
network, prime-time tv show in front of millions of viewers!
"I have attached a press release for the show to give you some more
information about it, and I would love to schedule an appointment for our
auditions.
Please call me ASAP.
Holly Gardner"
Blah blah blah
I never liked INXS, but man have they sunk to a new low. Unbelieveable.

I got that email too. So did a few of my friends. Weird. I really hate reality TV.

Re: A New Low
At some point (like, ten years after your main singer and songwriter commits suicide) you've gotta just say to yourself, it's time for me to START A NEW BAND.
Re: A New Low
i thought this was going to be about the new low record... pretty far from it I guess.

Re: A New Low
dude...he didn't commit suicide...He died via autoerotic asphyxiation.
Apparently Kylie Minogue wasn't enough to satisfy him.

Re: A New Low
This was released on the internet 6-8 monthes ago. I guess the show is still a go, huh?
Commercial saps that they were, WHY WOULDN'T INXS do this?

Re: A New Low
Apparently Gilby Clarke and the Black Crowes rhythm section were auditioning for the "house" band as well. I heard about it a few days ago.

Re: A New Low
Jay's telephone man? Jay Howard? Sorry I'm not following you--it's been a busy weekend with that Deanna show on Friday and the CMPD Animal Control Benefit CD release party last night. Forgive me if it's obvious.macr0w wrote:Not trying to hijack your thread but, what's up chris this is Jay's telephone man. I saw your name and thought I would say hello.

I guess. I just got this email like two days ago. I can't believe something like this is actually going to happen.Jeff Robinson wrote:This was released on the internet 6-8 monthes ago. I guess the show is still a go, huh?
I definitely see your point and even though I never liked them, I guess I thought they might have SOME dignity. Some. Any. Weren't they planning on doing something with the singer from Midnight Oil a couple of years back? That could have been cool.Jeff Robinson wrote:Commercial saps that they were, WHY WOULDN'T INXS do this?

I was kinda thinking that too.eskimo wrote:i thought this was going to be about the new low record... pretty far from it I guess.
They should actually make a record called "A New Low."
Re: A New Low
Besides the obvious, my next thought was, 'How can they replace Mike?'
Then I remembered that dude playing Jim in The Doors.
Kinda creepy, but it can be done.
I don't know why anyone would want to be in a band whose songs are like a roulette table where you can only bet on one number -- a hit or nothing.
