overdubbed guitar for a song i am messing with. And mixed it a little.

Also worked a soup kitchen today to feed the homeless and went to downtown chicago to pick up some tickets for Les Miserable

Mostly I just lamped around and soaked up having played the best show of my life last night. I helped a friend move. And I recorded some acoustic guitar with my newest mic which I bought off Joel Hamilton last night.

Good day so far, and it's not over yet....

Spent a few hours troubleshooting a synthesizer I'm designing. It had a noise issue that was making the control logic unstable, and it looks like it's cleared up now.

Then I sampled some funky waveforms from the synth and sequenced a techno-tronic cumbia. Hell yeah! Fat and nasty.

Day 2 of mixing the new Collapse Into Reason record. Fun!
he took a duck in the face at two and hundred fifty knots.

http://www.radio-valkyrie.com/ao/aoindex.htm - download the new record (free is an option!) or get it on CD.

I put a new harddrive in my VST/Softsynth computer (different from my Nuendo computer) and so I spent part of the evening loading softward back into it.

Worked on lyrics for a song for a while (why do they seem so lame...)

I did a Stapes "field test" ... I do mac tech stuff, and a client owns a massive five-story tobacco warehouse whose fourth floor basically overlooks a train trestle. While I was there I set up the pair one basically against a wall and the other one as shown. I have to sift through basically three hours of stuff, but I'll post MP3s if anybody is interested.

decided my cat was overweight...chopped up some drum samples and came up with the sound they used for the t-rex stomps in jurassic park

then i finished the first part of an industrial track i am working on in an effort to learn traction inside and out...i also worked on drinking some green tea.

go ahead, give in to the power of the tea.

Went back to work today for my dad, which involved getting a 5200 Pound boiler down 12 stairs into a basement for a church.

Came home ate dinner, then put some resumes in the mail for two different sound design gigs, and another for a video documentor hoping to do some field recording for them. Now i have to wait to see if i hear back and go through all the nerve racking interviews and all that but thats life.

Played guitar for about a half hour and came up with a cool new chord progression to be used hopefuly in a new band im trying to put together.

I mixed a new song down to tape today.

Fresh Quantegy 1/4"

And it was sweet. I mixed down to an old Tandberg Series 12 4-track and had an absolute blast.

I may mix everything down to tape from now on. There's nothing like all tubes and fresh analog tape.

If anybody's interested you can hear the mp3. It's a little 2:50 piece called "Away": http://www.soundclick.com/bands/5/kenluskmusic.htm

Day job.

Came home, and my new pedal had arrived...a zvex super hard on. Tried it through my (I think) massie amp. Super aces. It will replace the MXR micro amp on the pedal board. When my Weber MASS attenuator shows up I'll be ready for any situation, volume/tone wise.

Then I practiced scales. New Year's resolution, ya know.
