Names NOT to Use for Your STUDIO

Post by TapeOpLarry » Mon Jan 24, 2005 6:41 pm

I was looking at the "Help Me Name My Studio" thread and thought it would be cool to see what really lame names should never be used for studios. Not jokey/ha ha shit but ones that guys would name their suburban ADAT studios in the '90s.

I'm thinking:

Right Track
Track Shack
Trax (was one in Portland!)

Let's see some more, especially real ones you've heard of if you'd like to embarass someone in your town.

PS: If anyone says Jackpot! I'll kick their ass!

There was a studio called Rainee Daze in the Seattle area in the mid 90s. I don't how lame that is, but I thought it was goofy.

Regards.

To their credit, though, the guys were nice and they had a Juno. So, they had that going for them.

I've heard 'Studio Of The God's' and they were using like AudioBuddys and PG48s. That was a little shocking..

There actually is a Right Track in New York, i think. We were trying to ISDN them the other night. Didn't work- weather problems on the east coast, apparently.

Wasn't there one in the studio listings here recently called "Angel Tits" or something? I think that's a pretty lame name.

In Dallas alone, there was both a "Fatt Trax" and a "Hott Trax". I'm sure there were plenty of others.

"Trax Trax" would be pretty great, I think.

There's one here in Charlotte called "Track House," too, which I think is a completely non-creative name. That's almost like naming a band "Super Groove."

Any name with "hit" in it. Unless you roll with "hitz", that could be pretty hot.

True, although the Hit Factory has been pretty successful, they do have a DAMN goofy name.

I always thought my studio name was sort of lame, yet of sentimental value to myself. I wanted to use Mercenary Audio when I first started and I felt like such a novice that I didn't know Fletcher existed. Still pretty cool. I had business cards where the dot in the "i" was a little blood puddle...

My favorite Portland studio name is "Insta-Fame" I think those guys are/were in Milwaukie, OR...
Yours,

Piotr

naming a studio is stupid. i stopped bothering a few years ago. yeah im a stick in the mud. i just use my name when i have to (like on receipts or whatever)
