I really wish i were in a band that would suit that name, as i'd definately use it, that's so funny -excellent.

just as long as its not a bunch of white guys
I was imagining largely brazillians.
The large print giveth, and the small print taketh away.

I played guitar in a fusion band from Stockton, Cali in the mid-70s (the other players were Univ of the Pacific Conservatory cats). The bass player and I were the only white guys in the band so we called it "Brothers & Others."

It's not the name of a studio, but I had to add this to the conversation. There's a bar my band plays at alot that used to be called Acme Underground. They just transferred ownership and they changed their name to Ace Of Clubs. The first time I heard that it made me cringe.

I didn't come up with the name "Slaughterhouse Recording Studio' for my place - I bought into a already somewhat succesful, and certainly imfamous, studio back in '94. I never would have considered that name otherwise. The studio is still in that old slaughterhouse building, and even when I move to a new space someday, I'm now stuck with the name. No biggie.
('cowtrax' comes from my old partnership's first attempt at getting a custom 800 number - we thought 1-800-COWTRAX had a ring. I was young - what did I know?)

Anyhow, I always thought Flyte Tyme was cheesy - but they obviously have it going on. (Can anyone say 'Control'? Still sounds punchy to this day...)

Names are tough.

How's this one:
Real to Reel Recordings.

Seriously. The band I was in in high school recorded there. I still have a hard time believing it.

There's a studio in my area called Fast Traxx. :kotzen: (cue Sideshow Bob grumble)

It's funny-- I was just talking to my wife about how lame it is to put track, trax, or traxx in a studio name. Unfortunately, this thread just makes me more nervous about naming my studio. But here's my working title: Mike Council's Basement.

There was a studio that lasted about 2 weeks called City Sound.

Way too close to Shitty Sound for me.
I was thinking about warning the guy, but he was kind of a dick to me.

Serves him right.

I think "the hiss hut" is the best studio name I've heard today!

oddly, I just got an email from my boss saying we have to re-name the studios when we move. Long story. But I'm gonna scroll back through this thread and get me some ideas.

"Piles of ProTools" has a nice ring to it.
