Have you ever made a seriously large gear purchase?

I sunk $85k in toys for may day job, back before Xmas. It's still showing up, in dribs and drabs. Apparently SKB went off to NAMM, shut their doors, forgot about outstanding orders, and it's going to be another 14 days before they even ship anything. At this point, we are talking about 60 days and counting..... and this isn't some complicated 'group buy' craptacular.

yeah, cool, but what about individual mic orders (as in one, not a pair). There's like 22 pages of this stuff... what are we doing again?

I'm so f-ing old. I get confused.

I wasn't insinuating that Garth would abscond with the money. I certainly hope not anyways. I was just sharing my one nightmare story and thankfully it was a mere $18.

These ARE the same mic as the Nady I believe. Correct?

Do checks need to be received by Monday?

Hi Garth,
At this price and with this quantity, the only fair thing to do is to send you the money up front.
Thanks for organizing this.

samplitude 8.0 anyone? I would be in for a copy of that but not too big on the $1k pricetag.

With all the people signing up for this shouldn't the price be around $0.90 by now?

That's what I'm waiting for.

let's just tape-op co-op a chinese microphone factory and churn out tons of mods and custom gear. how 'bout the world's first quad-ribbon condenser, baby, yeah with a big tapeop64 logo emblazoned on the front. don't let 'em unionize!
medicate? oh, i thought you said "meditate."

Why not do that in the US though? Scodiddly makes some Sick mics, have you seen them? And the A/B clips he's posted prove he's doing it right. Michael Joly does these crazy mic mods that are just beautiful.

There's a lot of talent here on this board.

No, I know about long lead times but that's because my company does "just in time" inventory and is a niche industry. Typically we have a 30 day delivery with net 30 to the customers after that. And no, no large pro audio gear purchases for me yet. I'm in awe of the extent of shutdown in other countries.
