Tapeop Board - Cheap Bastards branding

Post by Mr. Dipity » Fri Jan 28, 2005 8:59 am

We need a brand name, a byline, and a logo. Proposals?

I think it's pretty TapeOp to NOT have a logo or byline.

I might remind folks that it would be up to Larry, though - otherwise, start your own magazine, bulletin board, and community.
I'm in for your mom and I'll pay.

I had an idea, but it's a terrible pun and somewhat racist to boot.

Still, I laughed, so I'm going to hell.

Well sure, to a point, but hardly. It's for our own amusement: we aren't sellling them, or otherwise trying to profit from his 'brand'. If anything, this is a more on the tribute side of things.

If I dressed up as the tapeop message board for Halloween, will Larry expect me to ask for permission? What if I quote this board in a national advertising campaign?

I suggest "Your logo here!" as a good brand name.

Remember in the '70s and early '80s (if you are old enough to remember that) when they had the whole Generic brand of foods with the white packaging and the all caps product names, like "BEER," "POTATO CHIPS," etc.?

How about we just get an all caps engraving that says GENERIC RIBBON MIC.

We could become the generic brand of music gear.

Yes, I am making a lame attempt at being facetious.

I get tortilla chips that are like that, they must still do that! Unless these chips are 25 years old

Alas, being lame is my specialty.

Sigh.

I'm down with TOMB.

It sounds so rock.
