How close to the real thing do UAD-1 Plug-In's sound?

It doesn't sound exactly like the real thing if you a/b them. It is useful though and the gui is like the real thing making it intuitive to use. If you want the real thing, get the real thing.

It is just like hardware: If the knobs are giant (even virtual knobs) it must sound better than the thing with small knobs, right?

I've got a giant knob, and I sound like crap.
