wait, so are these overdub takes, or did they keep everything in isolation while tracking? zep never seemed like an overdub band to me. you can hear some music sometimes, is it headphone bleed?

This was actually the first thing I thought about doing. It's so tempting. How often do you get a lone drum track, especially from one of the best drummers ever. But I probably won't do it, it'll defeat the purpose of recording.

Amazing. Awsome find Zepp.

these are from in thru the out door. i'm pretty sure it's headphone bleed you hear, aside from bonzo's trademark grunting as he beats his drums into scones with his baseball bat sticks.

if you want to use these tracks legally get a good lawyer and have a lot of money...and good luck.

simply amazing drumming. one of the best ever.

Andy Johns...chances are these MP3s are illegally hosted(a license would be insanely $)...so just to make them cooler, id say download them just incase :D

and yes they are takes. beleive it or not I have zep II and III takes also. you can hear the headphone bleed in a few songs

Has anyone checked out A Thunder of Drums by Chris Welch and Geoff Nichols?
Brilliant book about Bonham,a must for any fanatic/drummer/engineer...it has great detail about all of his kits, his style and its origination and individual logs for each song!!!

Anyone motivated enough to label these. as to what songs they are? Fool in the Rain is obvious but I don't have much of the later stuff.

Hell yeah, I think all the Zeppelin outtake tapes are A+. I've spent years obsessively collecting this kind of stuff. There is a collection of Physical Graffiti rehearsals out there that is just mind-blowing... you can really hear the tunes develop.

There's a cool gated reverb effect on some (all?) of these tracks. sounds like a distant mic that's keyed off the kick and snare. does anybody have more info on what's going on here?
