You know who has a great foot?
Billy Martin from Medeski Martin and Wood.
He's the new Bonham dudes!!!
Just kidding. He's rediculousley funky. But in a good way. Not a Joshua Redman kind of way.

I really like Darren Jesse...
he used to play in Ben Folds Five...
...He's no Bonham, but I really always dug his playing...
..especially on their first record

mackie jayson. pretty much the end of the line as far as hard rock drummers.
check out "voyage to infinity" on bad brains "quickness" and know that he does that with one foot, one pedal and one 18" bass drum. jeesh.
oh yeah, and remember that he did it fifteen years ago.

have to add
- Igor Calavera (Sepultura)
- Dave Witte (Human Remains, Burnt By The Sun, Discordance Axis)
- Dennis the Menace (Macabre)
- Mick Harris (Napalm Death, Painkiller, Scorn) ... saw him with Painkiller and it was jaw-dropping to see what he did with one kick drum... especially after talking to him and finding out that he hadn't been playing drums for about 6 months, and it was only the second stop on the tour.

No one ever names those old-school hardcore band drummers, but most of them slayed.
Earl was no slouch either.

Re: You know who has a great foot?
There was an interview with Jeff Hanneman in the local rag. He said Dave was the best musician in the band, that the guy didn't even warm up, just sat down and laid it down from the first note of the show. I saw Slayer without him and it just wasn't the same.Zeppelin4Life wrote:+1StivBatorsWreckedMyCar wrote:Dave Lombardo ain't too shabby.

Wait a minute. Are you saying that Joshua Redman is funky in a bad way?!?!?
Elastic is so freakin' cool. Brian Blade is the shit. Gosh, these people don't like Steely Dan or Joshua Redman. Probably think Sting is gay, too. I should go over to motu-mac
Gosh!
