Does anyone know how to open Simmons drum pads?

... Without breaking them, that is! I'd like to replace the triggers in them and I can't see how they come apart. Can any of you old-school electronics folks out there help?

Thanks!

It's pretty much a matter of poking and prying with a screwdriver. There are lots of little hook shaped plastic tabs. You'll probably break a few, but there are plenty.

As for replacing the triggers, the piezo elements are glued to some eighth inch lauan with gobs of epoxy. You'd probably have to replace the whole assembly.
