I've got an RNC on my TV rig. It helps, but every channel's got it's own gain structure it seems. I still ride the mute button, but at least the "EPIC" soundtracks don't knock my ass out of bed when i'm trying to mellow out and watch a movie!

this exact topic evolved into an argument where someone was arguing that 'skipping commercials is stealing'. Anyway, yeah they are loud! MUTE!

Lets hope the TV industry doesn't have their own gestapo like the music industry does. Wouldn't it be hell to get sued for muting? Wouldn't suprise me a bit if it happened.
