Quantegy gone?! What now?

Post by ShiftyHenry » Thu Feb 10, 2005 2:30 pm

I heard a few weeks back about the Quantegy crisis and now I'm a bit late on getting the tape I need for some upcoming sessions. I use 1/2" tape and had been using the popular 456 just because it's cheap, available and it seems to work well with my machine. Anyway, does anyone know where there might be a warehouse full of this stuff where it hasn't been marked up 150% or so? I've heard Steve Albini bought an aircraft carrier full of it before they went down.

You're kidding?!

Somebody bought Albini's aircraft carrier?

Jeez, next thing you know it, companies are going to stop making analog tape. What's the world coming too?
