If I had a SSL, or a Neve, or whatever, it might be different. But mixing with Cubase SX is just way, way less problematic than trying to do something similar with a Mackie 1604 (which I only use for monitoring with everything set at unity gain). I can save multiple revisions in different stages with all of the fx, automation -- without having to remember anything.

I pretty much try and treat my DAW as a tape machine and not much more. Sometimes though, I need the recall and in those cases, I still use the board for summing even if the faders are all at zero.

I work so much faster when I can just use the board's EQ.

Using the board also gets me around any latency issues during recording.

Yup. Unless the console is decent or better forget it.

I mix back thru a Neotek Series console and like it.
pffft...the internet. Is that thing still around?

I've only got a 4in-4out sound card, so I won't be doing any fancy console mixes anyway. I do sometimes like to use it to do quick tests of panning, EQ, etc. But until the day that I've got a console with fully parametric EQ, the box is going to have more useful EQ.
