A quick Google search showed that the singer is "Vitamin C" now. Interesting.

I'm really quite suprised that no one has listed Vixen. Here's a little refresher course in case you forgot.

All kidding aside I fell in love with Kim Deal again when the Pixies were on tour. Not really a "rocker", But Beth Gibbons from Portishead is always at the top of my list.

But hey I like rockers just as much as the next guy, and those Wilson sisters from Heart, well they rock, rock and then they rock some more.
Well, like I said in my first post, I am kinda veering out of "rawk" with my listings.

And Heart--fuck yeah.

This reminds me of my friend's older brother growing up. His name was Rod. Rod defined cocky. He used to brag about how big his wang was, then proceed to whip it out and slap it on the kitchen table. Everyone should have made fun of him, embarrassed him, but instead they just gawked and were impressed by the audacity. Meaning???

Petra Hayden and Liza from the swords projects are both just insanely talented. However, my big hero is Joan Wasser(Dambuilders, Those Bastard Souls) She used to play violin with a massive amount of pedal effects. Little I've seen rocks quite as hard as a Joan violin solo.

soundguy wrote:One of my all time favorites from back in the day was veruca salt. Stupid amount of talent in that band. Louise Post is bringing back the band as we speak and the record they did after Nina Gordon left the band is just so so awesome, a record that no joe barresi fan really ever brings up. Bob Rock, after ruining veruca salt did a solo record for Nina Gordon which is really actually kind of great in a sappy pop bob rock kind of perfect drivel way. Also a great example of how wretched autotune sounded back in the stone age of that technology. Nina Gordon recently did about the coolest shit ever, dont listen to this if you are drinking otherwise you get that milk out the nose thing...

[edmcmahan]You are correct sir[/edmcmahon]

I saw them in high school and watching Louise rock out with an SG made me a man. GOOD TIMES.

Didn't she do an album that was a fuckyou to Dave Grohl's ColourandtheShapefuckyou?
I get satisfaction of three kinds. One is creating something, one is being paid for it and one is the feeling that I haven?t just been sitting on my ass all afternoon.

no doubt. Moment of silence for Mary Hanson. In addition to her being just one of the nicest humans imaginable, she really was the magic dust that made that band work so well. Very few recognized that and celebrated her when she died and that was particularly sad to see. She was really fantastic.

Ive done a bunch of work with the Rogers Sisters over the years, if they come to your town, go check them out, great band.

Colleen Fitzgerald and the band was Eve's Plum - their first record "Envy" is incredibly, stupidly good if you like driven power-pop/angsty stuff. Yeah, she turned into a shite-pop star because she wanted to be famous or something. Tragic. I heard some of the Vitamin C stuff and it is complete crap.

Speaking of 90's alterna-rock, I'm suprised no one mentioned Kay Hanley from Letters To Cleo. Someone must have mentioned Siouxie Sioux too, right?

Also:
Annette Farrington (Opium Den and solo)
Yuki (Asobi Seksu)
Saffron (Sneaker Pimps)
Kat Bjelland (Babes In Toyland and Katastrophe Wife)
Kathleen Hanna (Bikini Kill and Le Tigre)
Miki Berinyi (Lush)
Luscious Jackson
Katie Jane Garside (Daisy Chainsaw and Queen Adreena)
Caithlin DeMarrais (Rainer Maria)
Johnette Napolitano (Concrete Blonde)
Krisitn Hersch (Throwing Muses and solo)
Mona (Victory at Sea)
