Building a Theremin
Building a Theremin
Hey i have heard a couple people on this forum talk about theremins. Does anyone know of a site that has some good schematics. I've been wanting to make for a while. Thanks a lot for your help.

there's a guy that puts kits up on ebay all the time, or at least he used to. they come with intructions, but no housing, so you can be creative with that part. he also sells premade ones on his site. just search ebay for theremin, there's usually tons of 'em.

I have a paia theramin. I like it alot.
It sounds cool but not exactly like the moogs.
One cool thing about the paia theramin is that it has control voltage ouputs so you can use it as a controler for say, a filter that let's you use CV to control the sweep or speed of the ocilator.

Re: Building a Theremin
Six years ago, I designed an all-tube theremin that works well and sounds great. It has a very rich, fat tone that sounds better (to me) than most of the transistor theremins I've heard.
I was planning to exploit the design commerically; but as usually happens with the stuff I design, lack of ambition stood in the way So, I decided to publish the design instead, but I never got around to that, either...

Hey speaking of paia does anyone knw anything about that tube head pre amp how it sounds and how hard it is to build. does it come with instructions for how to put it together and all.
Re: Building a Theremin
I have the Moog Etherwave kit and it is wonderful. It went together very easily (finishing the box was the hardest part) and it sounds incredible. I almost sound like I can play it too.
