rhodes and hum

Post by lifeofbirds » Mon Jun 02, 2003 12:46 pm

Here is a question. In my current stage setup, I have a kurzweil k2000 that sits on top of my rhodes. The pickups on the rhodes amplify the electrical noise of the k2000 and create a buzzing sound in my amp. Someone told me I could line the inside of the rhodes' top cover with tinfoil to cut the noise. This didn't work. The noise goes away when I elevate the keyboard about a foot over the rohodes. But this is awkward for playing. Is there anything i can make, buy, or do to block this electrical noise?

No, you'll have to move the keyboard for this one for the most effective removal of the noise.

We've all had problems these days of overdubbing at our DAWs with an electric guitar and the only way around that is to get away from the monitor!

Just checking....when you put the foil in the case, did you connect the foil to ground too?

It probably won't make a difference, but it's worth a shot....
