direct out question

Post by bentonevolution » Wed Jan 21, 2004 9:51 pm

I plan on getting a mixer as a front end for my DAW. I only need 8 channels and will use them mainly for the preamps. If it doesn't have direct outs on it to go into the DAW, can I use the inserts? I don't see why not. If anyone has any insight let me know...thanks

Yes
I always go from the insert out to the recorder, using the gain control to set the level to the recorder.sometimes if i need it i put an eq or comp in line. it's the cleanest way.
