I use mattresses in my squarish, drywall and hardwood floor room. We also have a throw rug and that semi-soft, interconnecting foam (ever see those huge alphabet puzzles for kids? same stuff) to put under the drums. getting any amps off the floor helps alot. One homemade 4 X 6 gobo: 2 X 4 frame stuffed with fiberglass insulation (can't remember part #, but it's the only one rated for sound absorbtion), finished with 1/2" soundboard, fabric, and a couple 18" pieces of 2 X 4 to hold it up.

yeah, that was the first thing that popped in my head when the vocal came up.

When you get it sketched out, if you'd like to come out and record it, game on.
