Drum Micing Workshop at LoHo - NYC

Post by mwerden » Thu Jun 11, 2009 1:22 pm

OK folks, it's time to test the waters with this idea. I want to set up a 4 hour workshop to go over some drum candy. Here's my initial thread about the studio:

We are offering 10 slots for this trial run, $60 a pop. I'll schedule a date as soon as there's enough interest. Who's in? All ideas/suggestions welcomed.

Thanks,
Matt

I'm in Philly but I could easily make it up to NYC by train. Where is the studio located? What day of the week / time of day are you looking at? It would be fun to hang out and mic up some drums, develop some new technics, LEARN a little, grab some food with all of you NYC folks, etc.

It looks like the studio well equipped to make a workshop like this a whole lotta fun! And, that's a great deal, too! Wish I was closer. Sounds fun!

The studio is in the Lower East Side. Most likely we would do a Saturday or Sunday afternoon, and then go tear it up at night.

Yeah, I'm trying to get the kids excited about this recession I keep hearing of. The prices will most likely go up after this trial run, so get yer tickets while the gettin's good.

It wouldn't be a problem at all to do it on a Sunday, I don't think. I'll definitely keep everyone informed. As of now you're the first 2 takers, but I've only posted here and on Gearslutz. We'll see what happens when we hit the NYC recording schools and give some time for word to spread. I would hope that things would go quickly for such a cheap price of admission.

I'm definitely interested. I'm in Albany, so not a far drive at all for me.

Keep us posted for sure.

Alright, that's 4 of 10.

I figured the cheap price would grab people pretty quickly, but I got no bites from anywhere else yet. Any ideas for spreading the word?

I'm going to ask a couple recording buddies of mine if they're interested.
