Carpal Tunnel Surgery
I am finally getting it done tomorrow.
This thing kept coming and going, until last October 2019 it decided to stay.
Will report progress.
Cheers

My bro just had a rotator done - if you can get the ice machine, do.
And feel better.

Re: Carpal Tunnel Surgery
Hope it all worked out, Nick.
I had my right wrist done about a decade ago. The left needed it but never got it. Well, they are both candidates once again. But technology and approach has changed, and my most recent consulting doctor said “let’s wait awhile.” Both shoulders are worse anyway. I just got the steroid shot in right shoulder; we’ll see how it goes.
Playing hand percussion is no problem. Not being able to hold sticks for very long though makes drumset nearly impossible.

Hope it goes well! I've had tendonitis in my wrists a few times which is a different injury, but still frustrating to live with.

Thanks Greg! So far so good, the recovery has been quick. I still cannot use my hand as much as I want to,
but I guess I just have to get used to going slower. So, no Death Metal solos for now...

My understanding is that you get a reprieve, but you still have to fix/reduce the RSI-causing behavior going forward?Nick Sevilla wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 4:21 amThanks Greg! So far so good, the recovery has been quick. I still cannot use my hand as much as I want to,

I still use very ergonomic Kinesis keyboards on my computers, Dvorak keyboard layout, &etc.

Re: Carpal Tunnel Surgery
Correct. Well, I now only use computers part time. For now... eventually I'll find a good ergonomic keyboard, and learn to use it. Re: Carpal Tunnel Surgery
Cheapest two things you could do right away is switch your mouse to the other hand and then use the Dvorak layout. Both take a little getting used to, but are generally well worth doing. And any modern operating system will have a Dvorak option in the keyboard language settings.

Yeah! I have it in both wrists, but if I switch to Dvorak, will I automatically write better symphonies? That is the question...
