I'm in Silverlake.

What's up ya'll
I've been in LA for a few years doing the studio thing..
Wouldn't mind meeting some new people.
I go out to some places in Hollywood, Los Feliz, and Silverlake. Though i live in Burbank..
and yes, after 12 hrs in the studio a day, it is definately beer o'clock!

Sorry, I fell in a well and completely forgot about this thread.

Any West-siders hang out at Cinema Bar? It's near impossible to get people out of a 10 mile radius of their house.. LA meetups are always so hard to organize.

I'm telling you I'd drive the 30 miles to go hang...

Though I don't know how I'd drive home

Anyone hang out in long beach? I love the RED ROOM on 4th st. The vibe is always cool and the beer is super cheap. Not to mention the bartenders are cool people.

The Prospecter is always cool too....when its not super packed.

I also feel a similar vibe when I hang out at the echo in silverlake. Are there any cool bars with a similar description as above in the silverlake echo park area.

hey, I'm new on this thread...but I LOVE the Cinema Bar! It has the best vibe, great music and cool people. If everyone meets up there sometime I'm down!

You guys ever go to the Largo on Fairfax?

Post by inflatable » Thu Jun 29, 2006 12:02 am

All us LA area Tapeops should go to a show at the Largo. Jon Brion plays there every Friday night. It's always a blast. Fairfax between Beverly and Melrose. Across from Canters Deli.

That sounds cool actually! I've never partied in that area. Whats the vibe like? Is the beer selection good (and cheap for that matter). I like the fairfax area but it always struck me as too "cool". Like skybar cool. Which is just not my taste.

I like a place where its mostly locals that happy to welcome you in. And the jukebox has to have good tunes as well. ohh and good selection of beer. Hence echo park, long beach, etc.

Largo is anything but cheap. For a bunch of audio geeks seeing Join Brion would be pretty cool, not much of a place for conversation, but we could hit a different bar or Cantor's Deli afterwards.

Nova Express a couple of doors down is good for hangin'... not a bar, more a sandwich shop, but it's got a really cool vibe. Open till 4am too, so it's a great after-party place (if it's still open)

I'd definately be down to go out next Fri to the Largo...
Just dry it up a little bit and add some reverb...use echo instead of delay...put some more presence on at about 200Hz....you know what I want.
