Brooklyn Studio needs ?berIntern

Post by jhamburg » Tue Nov 15, 2005 8:50 am

Hello,

Who we are: We're a Brooklyn studio in north park slope. We've recently completed a major renovation of our 3000 sq. ft. space. The philosophy here is basically DIY on steroids, everything was built properly and looks fancy-pants. We have an established client base and are making a living.

What we need: We need someone to come in and help tie up the many loose-ends. This will include all of the annoying drudge work, keeping the studio clean, running and assisting on sessions.

The type of person we want: The most important things to us are intelligence, motivation, honesty, reliability and a STRONG work ethic. Techincal skills and previous experience take a back seat to a willingness to work. General problem solving skills ar e necessary as well as the ability to think for yourself. Sadly, matriculation from an audio school is not a plus in our eyes.

Expectations/plan: We need someone to make a minimum commitment of 20 hrs/week for 3 months. During this initial period there will be NO PAY. As crappy as it is, we are looking for someone to know that the person is comiited. Unfortunately, we've been burned in the past by interns who are more interested in surfing the web than getting things done. We are looking to find someone who is willing to make themselves indespenable, in either a studio manager roie or as a second engineer (or combination thereof). After a basic level of trust has been established, we will be more than happy to teach you all we know about producing/engineering/da bidness ect.. As well, the studio will be available during off-hours for your own projects and the ability to make a comission by bringing in new clients.

If you are interested and are not afraid of hard work please email a resume and cover letter to.

We'd like to find someone in time for the holidays.

thanks,

joel
