Where the hell are the Coloradans?
OK, so it's not exactly a mecca here for recording. Still, we have some good studios, plenty of local musicians, and a fair amount of guys like me who think they're engineers because they know what phantom power is.
So, any Denverites (or other Front Range people) reading this board?

I'm out here, usually lurking in the early morning. My main "engineering" outlet is occasionally assisting w/ the live on-air music here:

Set up a rendezvous and I'll try and make it.

I'll be driving there tomorrow - or at least starting my drive and arriving on Wednesday. Not staying long, but I'd be up for an evening of wine, women, and song with a couple of fellow nerds.
I'll be staying at my parents' place in Lakewood, but will be wandering around the city a bit as well. Someone pick a time and place.

to be fair, it's NW Denver, but just minutes from downtown, and away from the lodo/downtown chaos....not there's anything wrong with that! if you were to name places downtown, i'd be in the same shoes, and i've lived here since '98! we should rally and have a once a month "meeting" if you will......it's always nice to talk shop with someone who actually gives a sh#t, and see what everyone around town is doing.

18 hours later and here I am in Lakewood.
And a thought hit me along the way... what about something wholly innappropriate like the Bustop in Boulder or Shotgun Willies down at Colorado & I-25? Just a thought.
And let's not underestimate the possibility of nerding out a bit too, and visiting the gear shops. Any of you been to my old employer ListenUp? The main store at exposition & pearl in Denver has some sweet stuff to check out - nothing like hearing your last mix on a $50k pair of speakers.

Location? Time? Someone make the call, and I'll round up my pal George and head over, though I probably won't make it to Shotgun's if that's the pick; domestic life is running verrry smoothly right now without that to complicate it. Happy T-Day to all.
If we make it out Friday, we can celebrate Joe DiMaggio's birthday, too. www.born-today.com/Today/11-25.htm
Happy Turkey to all (but the turkeys).
