Mix O Lydian in Lafayette, NJ http://www.mix-o-lydian.com
Highly recommended. If the band is used to living & working in NYC then Mix-O would be a TRIP for 'em. 'Yer totally out there in bear country, stores are only 5-10 minutes away but it's a 180 from city life! Red Bank is way more 'urbanite-friendly'.

I second the recommendation for Studio G - I just had a seriously excellent drum tracking session there with Joel Hamilton (and when mixing the tracks back in my own studio all I had to was pull up the faders, pan things out, add a little bottom to the kick drum mic, and send a little signal to the verb from the snare track - took me all of 5 minutes and it sounded awesome to my ear! - I'll post an mp3 soon) - the room sounds very good there, they have great gear and Joel really knows his stuff...
but if you need more space in the Live room I've had great sessions at Excello (it's near Studio G in Williamsburg Brooklyn also) -

Excello has a really nice sized live room (40' x 25'), a good mic closet (their U67 sounds really great) and a cool Calrec board they got from the BBC.
Best regards,
Steve Berson
