San Antonio / Austin TX? Beer night?

Post by Glory_Morris » Fri Jul 28, 2006 10:20 am

Post here if your in the local area.

Maybe we should have one of those beer nights. I've not really talked to many people on the board from San Antonio. I'd be willing to host at my dump.

Mo...you know I'd be there, but the commute is hell.

I might be interested if we assemble something in the middle. I'm in the "new North Austin" (aka Round Rock).

BUMP....looks like we're lonely here. I would suggest something in the middle, like San Marcos or NB but I don't know anybody there unless they speak up.

Not a beer drinker, and even further north (Temple), but I'd love to do it. Not likely to convince my wife to let me make this road trip anyway, so plan for wherever. I don't mind driving to SA, NB, SM, RR(!). Put up some specifics, and we can all plan better. Just make a decision and go with it. If any more interest is generated, you'll know who to quiz before planning the next one.
If you're not prepared to look stupid, nothing great is ever gonna happen.

I don't want people to drive too far if nobody shows up...I'll keep bumping the topic for a couple weeks and see if anyone else posts.

Hey, I'm down with getting together in Austin.
How about some studio tours, and maybe coffee and trick swaping?

I'm in Austin (but do we have to call it ATX?)

There are some T/O types around, but apparently they don't have internet access.

We're on the information dirt road here.

Will be glad to help organzie drinking.

Ten or fifteen Austin guys over at Gearslutz tried to organize a beer night once. Maybe it's the slacker mentality, but it seemed really hard to motivate.

Yep, slackers

Post by obermorph » Thu Aug 24, 2006 9:41 pm

There is definately the slacker mentality here......not knocking, just trying to keep my head above it. Do you guys get alot of the "I only want to track for 4 hours" thing too?
I'm going to be out of town for a while, but I'd love to get together with some more engineers around here. There is allways something to learn.
