Where can a Mac Tech find work in Seattle?

Regional activities, relevant news, job openings, studio searches, local beer nights (not a forum to plug the new album you just worked on)

Where can a Mac Tech find work in Seattle?

Post by touched1 » Sun Aug 27, 2006 9:45 pm

Hey all,
I am relocating to Seattle from Portland in a month, and will obviously be looking for work.

I am wondering if anyone can recommend a service shop or anyplace else that might be good for an Apple certified tech. I've got DAW and engineering skills as well. But have been working exclusively as a Mac tech and doing data recoveries for the last 5 or so years.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. (I am not interested in the Apple Store)

Thanks in advance.

There is a company in our building called Power Mac Pac. Could try them.
Very small company, so I don't know if they have any opening.

Thanks E-Rock.
That's one of the places that I've been in touch with. Nice enough guys. Curious what their rep is among the locals....

Well with Microsoft employing thousands of people in the area what do you expect?

But seriously folks, a decent way to get a Mac tech gig would be to hook up with one of the contracting companies that works with many of the high tech companies in the area. Besides Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Real Networks, Adobe, etc all have offices in Seattle and they often outsource IT work like that.

.
Oh I forgot. No one uses Macs in Seattle.
Reasonable suggestion I guess. Was hoping to get some specific names of companies.
I don't hardly think I can call MS, Amazon info and say "Scuse me, but who works on your macs?" Guess I could try

I've worked with resellers, service providers exclusively for years. Probably time I branched out a bit...

An example of a company to which I was referring is Manpower. There are others, but you can check out the job search on their website:

Again, good luck
