Sweet, I'll try and be there. I've been wanting to check that place out for a few years now, it's about time I do. I'm not familiar with Mitch Easter, but I'd love to see you play, and hopefully meet you. If you're gonna have time to kill, I work at a pretty badass studio not far from there if you'd want to check it out.

Cool. How is that place? Looks interesting. I've got a bunch of friends from LA who are gonna be at that show, but be sure to come up and say hey.

Mitch is great. He's got a very cool track record and his new album is terrific. You should scope around his website or go to AMG or something and find out who he is.

I live across the street from the Silver Lake Lounge. If I'm not working, I'll be by.

By the way, don't go there on the weekend.

So, I've pulled out my copy of Let's Active afoot to give it a listen. (Noticed its a promo copy too...)

Doing any songs from that EP?

I'm sure we will. The last gig I did with him feaured a number of Let's Active songs. Stuff from all the records.

It's tricky to get in the mindset of playing like Sara Romweber and then trying to play the stuff from his new album or even some of the later LE stuff. Sara was such a unique drummer in that band.

Of course, a lot of that stuff is Mitch playing, too.

There are a bunch of LE videos on You Tube. One of them has some really cool footage from the old Drive-In Studio. At one point, you can see Don Dixon walk by the camera sort of quickly.

All the dates we're doing on this trip are in California. Mitch has some other gigs booked around NC and he did a few shows in NY back in December, but I don't know if he's got other plans for traveling.

i played silverlake last summer - i think you'll like it!

seems like an old mexican tranny bar turned hipster nighttime hangout. sound was pretty good, though dude was pretty aloof dickish at first, but was real nice after our set. daytime bartender was also a dick and didn't seem to like us cuz we were white and straight.

also, don't get there too early or the fence to the parking lot may be closed. and there's a wierd taqueria across the street. (sonicmooks neighbors?!)

it wasn't pay to play at least.

Tranny/gay bar on the weekends. Every time I walk near there someone/thing pulls up to me in a car and wants to know if I want to get in a get fucked, or if I want to go back to a hotel and fuck, or where the party is at, exc....

Unfortunatly it's never a hot lady, or even an fugly girl.

Watch out for the "All men are not created equal" poster by the restroom.

Other than that, it's pretty cool on the weekdays. I have seen a lot of cool bands play there.
