Recording studios in Albany?

Post by seaneldon » Mon Apr 23, 2007 7:57 am

I'm gonna head upstate for a month or so to hang out and maybe do a record or two. Got a couple of bands on the line and now we're shopping for rooms.

Needs:
- Albany and CLOSE surrounding areas
- 24+ track capability analog OR digital (RADAR is a definite plus!)
- FULLY WORKING console and equipment
- "full" tracking room for an entire band
- some backline
- less expensive than Manhattan
- Multiple day lockout is a must. Two nicer places I've contacted don't have "music" recording 24/7. Too bad for them.

Aiming for early-mid March. At least one band, at least 4 days.

Thanks, all!

I'm guess you've contacted Cotton Hill, when I did a record up there that was the only studio I could find. Have you checked the Clubhouse in Rheinbeck?

Recent reports say it's affordable and everything works.

Well, seeing as I didn't see too many responses, might as well throw this out there, although it may be a bit out of your range...

In Wilmington, VT, an hour or so from Albany. Great place, check with Colby (Fremitus on this board) for details and what not, as he works there, and is great.
off somewhere listening.

Check this place out. I haven't been to his spot in Clarksville but the old one in Albany was a nice price and sounded really good. Real friendly dude.

The Scarlet East website isn't up for some reason, but you should give him a try too. (518) 426-9529

This place http://www.edieroad.com/ has everything you need, including a one hole golf course!

Cheers!
