Who is coming to NYC for the AES?

Regional activities, relevant news, job openings, studio searches, local beer nights (not a forum to plug the new album you just worked on)

The NYC AES meeting is right around the corner. Who is coming?

This would be a great opportunity for a Tape Op hookup.

I've asked that same question a few times on this forum, and nobody responded. It really is a good idea to go to these conventions and meet people in the audio industry. I'll be there, of course, at the Sonar booth much of the time.

I just received a complimentary free pass from Sweetwater of all places. I do believe that I am going to pop in for Friday or Saturday.

Last time I was there in 2005 I was fortunate enough to bump into adn talk to Les Paul for 10 mins or so about backups. He was asking me my opinion. WTF?

So yeah, meeting up is easy to do in this day and age. So who's going?

I will be there. I'd be very glad to hook up with folks for a drink at some place near the convention also.

People can pm me at steve at total sonic dot net if interested.

Best regards,
Steve Berson

Well, I live here, so I'll try stop by for at least one day.

I'm not usually too excited about the gear displays upstairs, but there's always a good seminar or two, and bumping into old friends is always fun.

My free pass from Gearslutz just showed up in the mail today. So sign up for one if you need one.

It was a blast when I went two years ago. I got weak in the knees when I saw Rupert Neve. I talked with John Oram for a while about my board (ORAM BEQ 8). Turned out my board was a preproduction one made for the AES the year that it was released. Then it went to John Cale, then I got it.

Not sure where and when we should all meet up but I'd be up for it. I'll be going to the Arcade Fire/LCD Soundsystem/Blonde Redhead show at Randall's Island on that Saturday night so Sunday would be a better meetup for me.

I would love to go, but school is in the way. I think MTSU's division of AES should make a trip to a convention sometime.

I will be attending, and I would really like to do some networking.

And by networking, I mean beer drinking.
