Last night at the Crown & Anchor Pub was fucking excellent-- plenty of new faces!

The turnout was much better than I expected. i was fairly inebriated when I left, and fell off the curb in the patio area. Excellent night.

On to the next one!

Agreed. Let's make sure this happens multiple times a month, because frankly, I need another excuse to imbibe while talking to relative strangers about music and gear at the top of my lungs at some random campus-esque bar.

Totally for serious.

ok, its time to plan for a March beer night and maybe if we time it right, we can catch some folks who may be in for SXSW?

so as not to interfere with your SXSW activities, how about Monday or Tuesday night (3/10 or 3/11) as a SXSW warm-up. Or should we try to do a wrap-up on Sunday night (3/16)?

Last time was at the Crown & Anchor and I think that might be a good location again since it is close to Downtown, but not too close to the SXSW stuff.

anyone interested?

I'm free for all of the days/nights Digital Drummer mentioned. It would be cool if we could get some out of town tape oppers to show up. I'd love to show anyone interested where all the cool shit in Austin used to be :D .

I'll be down there from the 13th-16th, right in the middle of sxsw, doing sound for my friends band. I'd tell you who it is, but it's my first gig out with them, and I'm already fretting the normal pressure that comes with live sound. Esp after taking a break from it for a few years... here's hoping I don't blast anyone with feedback!!!

keep me posted for if a beer night goes down, cause I'm definitely down for that.
off somewhere listening.

thats kind of what we were talking about. I sent an email to some local folks (that may or may not have seen this post) to see if 3/11 or 3/16 works best. thats the day before or they day after the officially SXSW activities--thought it might be easier for people to get away then.

Pre-SXSW Austin Beer Night!

Post by digitaldrummer » Mon Mar 10, 2008 7:20 pm

Ok, here it is...

Tuesday 3/11 (that's tomorrow night)
8pm

Crown & Anchor
2911 San Jacinto Blvd
Austin, TX 78705

I'll be there and if I'm the only one there, hey that's OK, I like their beer selection... but if y'all can make it too, then I hope to see you there. If you are in town for SXSW--this is close to the UT campus so not too far away! Please come join us!

I'll try to grab a table outside, unless its really cold (that means <65F).
