RPM Challenge 2008
So it's less than a month 'til february, and there's nothing on the official RPM website about this year.

Kind of a bummer, but it's not gonna stop me! We can still network and share our albums on forums such as this one and the one on the RPM site!
Who else is in this year?
EDIT: nevermind, it's official!

I've been thinking about it, however I am without a studio space and the ability to "turn it up" until I buy a house in the next few months. I thought I'd already be in a new place and putting up room treatments by now. Not sure if I can commit to it this year, yet again.

I'm slightly interested in throwing a group together just for this, but I have one question. WTF is RPM? All I can think of is revolutions per minute and [computer nerdiness]the red hat package manager[/computer nerdiness].

Re: RPM Challenge 2008
RPM = record production month.
You write, record, mix, and submit a cd in one month.
Then you re-introduce yourself to your friends/spouse/kids during the next month.
It's worth doing, though. It gave me a half dozen good new songs, and the kick I needed to finish up a proper album of my stuff...

I did it last year, but this year I think I'm going to take a pass... too much going on this year, including family stuff (baby #3 due March 1).steve3b1 wrote: Who else is in this year?

I remember reading a bit about RPM last year. i actually don't have a whole lot going on this month (yet) and i'd be interested to see what i could pull outta my a$$ in a month. maybe i'll give it a shot.

I entered with some friends - neither of us have any idea what we are going to produce, but I guess thats the fun of the whole thing.

i too signed up for the '08 RMP project. i've been doing lots of thinking and listening and brainstorming on all aspects of my game plan. it's starting to take shape and i'm getting excited! i'm blogging regularly on the whole process (i'll post a link to my "artist" page on the RMP website when I get the chance). and hey, it's a leap year. one extra day to get this done!

We just signed up. We'll see what happens.
GAH, i so want to do this.
wait, i still have a working (if somewhat crapulent) Tascam 4-track...
what's a little tape hiss and distortion?
*heads over to sign up, knowing full well there will soon be pretty much no time for this*
